MY
Story

So, the important facts are: I returned to writing children’s stories in 2011. A wonderful publishing house, since retired from the business, gave serious consideration for a series of connected stories aimed at young readers. They eventually decided against my stories, but they invited me to write in the YA (young adult) and middle grade genre.
I found I kept returning to the twelve-year old and under readers. Since then, I have one published book, A Tale of Two Loves (“incredibly charming,” said the owner of The Avid Reader), plus two more written and illustrated books for beginning readers. They are print ready and await a publisher (Che the Rat Lives in the New York Metropolitan Art Museum & The Color of Friendship). I am nearing completion of a wonderful story aimed at the nine-year old and older mind, called The Land of LOPPVIEW. I adore that age group. They are beginning to have some sophistication in their sense of humor, and enough life experience to appreciate irony and word play. Such a wonderful age!
This website is dedicated only to my children’s books, but I have an adult resume which I will share below. Please don’t dwell on it other than to note that it adds a bit of gravitas to me as a writer. Publications: In Yolo Crow, another in Canyon Voice, and 166 Palms. Every Picture Tells A Story turned a piece, “The Nightly Death of His Wife,” into a podcast. Finally, received Honorable Mentions in the last edition of GlimmerTrain.Books: Published A Tale of Two Loves. Stories on Stage Davis:Founder and Director of Stories on Stage Davis from 2013-2016 (storiesonstagedavis.com). Currently I am the finder and coordinator of the authors that we present each month. This successful literary event started its eleventh season last September. It presents regional authors, both emerging and established, then hires actors to read the selections. We have had the privilege of presenting many bestselling authors and now have authors who regularly send our event their latest books.
